ALI PIZZA, Founder of James Street Bindery

James Street Bindery was started by book and paper conservator, Ali Pizza, who received unique training at Oxford University’s Bodleian Library and has been in practice in the Charlotte area since 2010. Her clients include collectors, historical societies, religious houses and institutions, and colleges and universities.

Ali holds a BFA from the University of the Arts, Philadelphia, and has served on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for North Carolina Preservation Consortium, and currently serves as a member of the Town of Cornelius’ Historic Preservation Committee. Ali lives in Cornelius, N.C. with her husband Joe, who is Associate Professor of 19th and 20th Century, and African American Literature. They have three young children who share their love of books, and a beagle, who enjoys family reading time on the couch.
